and Intermediate Algebra , 2nd ed. by Tussy & Gustafson.
Course Description: I shall
cover Chapters 3, 5, 6, 9-11, and Sections 12.1 and 13.1. The main content
of the course is devoted to linear and quadratic functions and equations, rational expressions, radicals, exponential
and logarithmic functions, as well as systems with two variables, and circle
and parabola.
Grading: There will be four tests (100 pts each), homework (100 pts total),
and a Final exam (200 pts). The Assesment test during the first week could
be used to substitute the lowest test grade from the four tests. The grade
for the course is based on the scale:
A - 90% or above, B - 80% or above;
C - 70% or above; D - 60% or above; F - below 60%.
Homework: Homework will be assigned, and selected problems will be graded.
To ensure full credit, do all of the homework.
