Course Description: I shall cover chapters 1-4 and 9. The main concept of the course is devoted to functions modeling change. In particular we shall study linear functions, quadratic functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, and polynomial and rational functions, as well as transformation of functions and their graphs.

Grading: There will be two tests (100 pts each), 12 quizzes (25 pts each, top 4 count for 100 points), Reading questions (50 points), Final (150 pts), and eHomework: (total 100 pts). The total is 600 points. The grade for the course is based on the scale:

A 540 - 600 pts, B 480-539 pts; C 420-479 pts; D 360-419 pts; F below 359 pts.

Make up tests or quizzes (unless proper excuse is provided) will be on 90% bases (a score of 80 pts will be recorded as 72 pts).
