Course Description: I shall cover chapters 5, 6, 7, and 8, as well as Appendixes B, F, H, and G. the main content of the course is devoted to techniques of integration, applications of integration, infinite sequences and series, complex numbers, conic sections, polar coordinates, and introduction to differential equations.

Grading: During the semester there will be four tests and twelve quizzes. The best ten quizzes form a quiz grade, which will substitute the lowest test grade (if higher than this grade). The average forms the semester grade. There will be a comprehensive Final Exam. The grade for the course is based on 75% of the semester garde and 25% of the Final exam according to the scale:

A 85 -100; B 75-84; C 60-74; D 50-59; F below 50.

No make up tests or quizzes will be given (unless proper excuse is provided).

Homework: Homework will be assigned, but not graded. However, students are expected to do their homework on time. It is the instructor’s experience that keeping up with the homework is an essential part of the preparation for the course. The problems on the test and the quizzes will be similar to the homework.

Enclosed is the tentative teaching schedule.
