Reading/Writing Workshops K-12
After returning to school to finish my undergraduate degree in 1990, I
taught middle and high school in Fort Wayne Community Schools and Canterbury
School from 1991-1995. I have had the privilege of teaching writing
at IPFW for the past five years both as a graduate student and a full-time
instructor. My background in the community schools impels me to work toward
helping high school students make a connection with college, especially in
the writing program. I am also a teacher consultant for the Indiana Writing
Project and work on site with K-12 teachers to enhance teaching and assessment
of writing in their classrooms.
APPLESEED WRITING PROJECT
As of February 1, 2003, IPFW will be the home of the Appleseed Writing Project.
This project will bring area K-16 teachers together to learn more effective
ways of teaching and assessing writing in their classrooms. If you
are interested in finding out more about the National Writing Project, visit
