This I-search will expand on your existing knowledge of a topic in education. Using I-search #1, the literacy autobiography, and the list of potential topics that you and your classmates generated,  do one or more of the following primary research activities:  1) interview one or more persons who can give you needed insight into your subject, 2) survey a group to explore and compare the experiences of others,  3) observe a classroom or other learning environment.  Your goal in this primary research is to answer some questions and raise new ones about your chosen topic in the field of education.

The Assignment:  Write a 4-6 page paper in I-search style that

• discusses what experiences (I-search #1) led you to ask these questions in your primary research,
• reports the details and outcomes of your primary research
• discusses the potential meaning of those outcomes, and explores the new questions and the direction that your next I-search (secondary sources) will take. (In other words, what "holes" occur in your knowledge of your topic that you must fill in order to develop an educated position (thesis) for your final research project?)
