I-Search #3
W233
Freeland
The focus of I-search #3 is secondary research. We
have examined our own literacy histories (I-search #1) and have talked
to others (I-search #2) about some questions that we raised through our
reflection. Now it is time, as we study the results of those first two
inquiries, to consult the experts about a classroom teaching strategy or
issue.
The Assignment
Write a 4-6 page “review of literature” on the topic
that you have developed.This review
will look at a minimum of 7 secondary sources including books, education
journals, ERIC documents, substantial articles published in a variety of
magazines and/or newspapers, and credible web sites. In this paper, you
will introduce each source and its author(s)/editor(s) and discuss what
you learned from each and how this information pertains to your topic (You
might also discuss how the information challenges and/or supports what
you learned in your first two I-searches.)In
other words, how does this new information advance your research? You will
also do a Works Cited page documenting each source that you use.Remember,
the more you read, the easier it will be for you to assemble a quality
research paper for your final project.Read,
read, read.
