This is a video of an example of my research into the combustion of alcohols and light hydrocarbon fuels. The genesis of this experiment was a demonstration commonly used in General Chemistry and in magic shows for prospective science students. It is an impressive, yet relatively controlled example of the chemical potential in fuel - air mixtures.
