Participation Criteria

This is a system which enables students to determine their class participation grade for a given week. A maximum of 45 points can be earned per three class-day week.  The student will receive a zero in case of absence during the whole week. The three categories according to which students should evaluate their participation are:

Use of Spanish
Preparedness
Interaction: Whole class work

The following chart represents the points that may be earned in each of the three different categories. There is a distinction between group work and whole class work because sometimes a student will participate enthusiastically within a group but contributes nothing or very little to instructor follow-up activities.
