Here are the answers to the exercise on finding infinitives and cognates, from Lesson 4.

English cognates are in italics.

1.  acuesta = acostar - to put to bed, to place in a horizontal position

2.  corrijo = corregir - to correct, to punish correct

3.  cuenta = contar - to count, to tell count

4.  cuesta = costar - to cost cost

5.  duermo = dormir - to sleep dormitory

6.  encuentra = encontrar - to encounter, to meet encounter

7.  impide = impedir - to impede, prevent impede

8.  juegan = jugar - to play, to gamble jocular (pretty hard to spot this one)

9.  mueves = mover - to move move, remove, mobile

10.  piensan = pensar - to think pensive

11.  prefiero = preferir - to prefer prefer

12.  quiero = querer - to want,  wish, desire

13.  riñen = reñir - to quarrel, to fight, to scold

14.  río = reír - to laugh risible (laughable)

15.  sienta = sentar - to seat, to set

16.  siente = sentir - to feel, to sense sentiment, resent, sentient

17.  sigo = seguir - to follow, to continue sequel (also hard to spot), segue (term taken from Italian used by musicians and broadcasters - continue with the next piece)

18.  sirvo = servir - to serve, to be of use serve, service, servile

19.  sueño = soñar - to dream somnolent

20.  vienes = venir - to come, to arrive advent

21.  yergue = erguir - to erect, to set upright
