Examinations: There
will be 6 unit exams during the semester at regular intervals (during allocated
laboratory/conference period time slot or other arranged time as designated
by class majority). The value of each exam will be approximately 10-13 %
of the final grade . The exact value for each unit exam is determined by the
content, that is, the number of lecture periods that are covered by the unit
examination. The approximate value is estimated on the exam schedule below.
This may change slightly, depending on negotiated exam date changes. The
unit exams will account for 70% of the final grade. Ten percent of the final
grade will be cumulative quiz / participation / assignment scores from clinical
conferences and laboratory exercises. The final exam will be comprehensive
and will be 20% of the final grade. The final examination will be the Pharmacology
shelf exam from the National Board of Medical Examiners. A passing
grade must be achieved on the comprehensive final to pass the course.
