"A candidate who seeks promotion in the Department of Communication on the basis of excellence in teaching is expected to enhance learning of disciplinary knowledge, as well as motivate and guide students and colleagues.  Quantitative and qualitative evidence of learning enhancement, motivation and guidance should be presented to support the argument of the case" (emphasis added)
