1.  pp. 530-531: In her lit review, which findings are consistent with what we've seen before?  Which are different?

2.  p. 532: What is silencing?  How does it operate from the speaker's perspective?  From the hearer's?  What does it mean to say that something is highlighted?

3.  pp. 532-534: How exactly did she do the study?  What's a theme?  A rheme?  What's significant about that distinction?  What's a nomination?  A categorization?  What's significant about that distinction?  What are the different types of categorization?

4.  pp. 534-535: What are the different types of processes this linguistic analysis can identify?  What makes each significant?

5.  Before we go any further: As a student of COM, what do you think of this linguistic approach?  What differences and similarities do you see between this and COM methods you're familiar with?

6.  pp 535-548: Go through each of her 10 findings.  For each: Is it consistent with what we've seen before?  Does her evidence back it up?  Does it seem plausible?
