COM 597, Fall 2011 – Reading Guide Questions for October 26

For Koermer, Ford and Brant (2000):

1. What exactly is "sociality?"  What are the four categories?

2. What are the research questions and hypothesis?  Who were the participants?  How was the study conducted?  What are the variables and how was each operationalized?

3.  What did they find about the link between sociality and satisfaction?  Between satisfaction and loyalty?

For Koermer and Kilbane (2008):

1. In what ways are the findings reported in the literature review on "patient satisfaction with physician communication" consistent and inconsistent with your own experience?  

2. What are the research questions?  Who were the participants?  How was the study conducted?  What are the variables and how was each operationalized?

3. What did they find?  How do the authors account for the results?  How do you?

4. What do you suspect Turner and Krizek would say about Koermer's research project (these two studies)?  Would you agree?
