Patient History:
Christy is a 2 year old girl who until two months ago had been walking and talking like any 2 year old. Then she got a cold. First her eyes began jiggling. Then her body began jerking. The twitches were so strong she couldn't walk or talk. She often fell, was covered with bruises, and had trouble sleeping. Christy's pediatrician referred her to a neurologist, who said she was fighting a virus, and would get better. Christy's condition has not improved over the last two months. Christy's parents tell you that over the past two months she has had bouts of diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Consequently, her parents have brought her to a second neurologist, that being yourself, for a second opinion.
Past Medical History: Unremarkable.
