Course Description

This class is designed for programmers with no Java experience who want to develop applications (games) in Java and  add Java applets to Web pages. It dwells on Java basics and addresses the AP requirements. This course provides measured experience with Java and its object-oriented features. You use Java  to create both applications and applets, including intuitive GUIs. At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Write, compile and execute Java programs 
  • Build robust applications using Java's object-oriented features
  • Create applications and applets using Java class libraries
  • Develop platform-independent GUIs
  • Read and write data using Java streams
  • Creating Java objects and calling their methods
  • Structure  data with the Java  collections API
  • Add event handling to GUIs
  • Read , process and write to disk
