Instructions from WebCt administration on taking an exam via WebCT:

[1] To take the exam in WebCT students need to go to www.ipfw.edu/dlearning and click on the link that takes them to WebCT, which is:

WebCT Internet Classes at Courses.ipfw.edu"
[not a link here]

Clicking on that link will take one to a page requesting a user ID and password.

[2] IMPORTANT NOTE: Students must have activated their IPFW student computing account. If they have not activated this, they can take a photo ID to any student computing lab and the student consultants can help them. Their [student] user ID and passwords for WebCT is the same as for their student computing account.

Having successfully entered a valid ID and password, a WebCT page called "myWebCT" will appear. That page is keyed to the specific ID entered and should show all the WebCt-registered courses for which that person is registered (in the WebCT system, not the university).

[3] Once they have access to WebCT [at their "myWebCT" page] they click on the name of your course, which should be visible on their "myWebCT" homepage. Once in the course, they click on icon/link that will take them to the exam, i.e., click on the name of the exam and read then the page presented.

[4] In the middle of the beginning exam page is a button that students need to click in order to begin the test. Some important notes--once a student clicks the "begin quiz" button, it starts the time for the test -- if they leave the exam without submitting it with plans on returning to finish it, the time still runs.

[5] If the exam is so structured [exams for this course are] any answer can be changed. But, if a student decides to change an answer they MUST [after selecting a new answer] click the "Save Answer" button to re-save their response. If they do not click this button, the system will keep their original answer choice.
