International Photography Contest International Studies Program, IPFW Contest Guidelines and Rules |
1.
Entrants submitting photos for the contest must have an official connection with IPFW either
as a student, alum, faculty member, or staff member. Study abroad participants
and international
students are particularly encouraged to participate in this contest.
2.
Photography
entries must be the original work of the entrant and must be photographs taken
outside the

Each print entry must indicate:
a) title of work;
b) complete name of
photographer;
c) when and where the
photograph was taken (if photograph was taken on a study abroad program, please
indicate the name of the study abroad program as well);
d) description of
photograph, if not obvious;
4.
All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form, completed and signed
by the entrant. Send entry forms to Professor

Entrants may submit photos in any of the following categories:
a) Favorite Cultural Interaction
b) Most Picturesque or Unusual
c) Mastodons Abroad
The ‘Mastodons Abroad’ category is reserved for
photographs that display IPFW school spirit (e.g.: display IPFW banner, IPFW
article of clothing, etc.)
6.
1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and one or
two “honorable mention” awards will be made for each category. One award
maximum will be awarded per entrant. Winners may be contacted and asked for
more information about the winning entries.
The following monetary prizes will be award for winning entries: 1st
place ($100), 2nd place ($75), 3rd
place ($50).
7.
By signing the entry form and submitting it, entrants are agreeing to grant the
International Studies Program license for use of the photographs in displays
related to the contest
and in IPFW printed and electronic publications and in fundraising and
promotional materials. The entrant will be fully credited in all such displays
and publications.
8.
Entries will be judged on artistic expression, creativity and originality, the
quality of the image, and the extent to which the image evokes specific contest
theme(s) or titles (when appropriate). All decisions of the judges are final.
The contest
organizers reserve the right to disqualify entries which do not conform to the
stated contest rules and
criteria.
9.
Deadline for entries: Friday, April 13,
2007. Judging will be completed and winners notified electronically
thereafter.
10.
Entries should be submitted on CD to the Director of International Studies at
the address below:
