Annotated Bibliography

Due: Wednesday 11/9/11

Now that you have decided on a topic, it’s time to gather information which answers your question. You may have found some very useful information in your preliminary search, but it’s now time to dig deeper. In looking for information, I strongly recommend that you contact a Reference Librarian. They are experts in how to find information, and they answer questions and assist with research through instant messaging (IM), email, in person, and over the phone.

An Annotated Bibliography is one way of presenting research. Unlike a traditional paper, it has no introduction, conclusion, or transitions and is organized by source the same way a Bibliography is organized. For this Annotated Bibliography, you may include any of these 4 elements with each source:

For an example, see the Purdue OWL’s explanation of Annotated Bibliographies and their Sample Annotated Bibliography (hyperlinks are available in Blackboard).

Purpose:    To evaluate and present your research

Audience:  You

Length:      However long you need for the 4 elements for all 10 sources

Research:   10 sources total

Documentation style for this paper: Use MLA format.
