Your first response was:
Personal-connection essay (2-3 pages)
A reflective narrative that expresses your personal connection to the research topic you’ve chosen for the semester. This will serve as the first “chapter” of your portfolio.
THIS Assignment: Write a brief essay describing what you have learned from your research and the class itself about the initial topic.
Due: Wednesday, December 7, 2010
Length: 250+ words
Format: Post on Blackboard , use hyperlinks - NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Some thoughts that may help: Where did you first encounter the word, “socialism” and/or "peak oil" and what did/ does it mean to you? Has this perspective changed since you began your preliminary reading? What did you read? Most important: how do you propose to customize these very large concepts into a manageable Expository portfolio? What are some of your working definitions of the terms involving your topic?
You need not answer all (or any) of these questions. Synthesize your personal connection to the topic.
