Your first assignment is to write 500 words describing your reaction to the following: 

I.                     Be an obedient slave 

II.                   Parrot the Dogma 

III.                 Your Reward is in Heaven

Format:  hard copy (print it- staple the pages together) USE MLA FORMAT.  NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED 

Cite at least ONE "Scholarly Source" that you have used in the critical consideration of your reaction.

Some thoughts that may help: 

What is "dogma?" What is a paradigm?  What is a paradox?  Where is the grain of truth?  Is there a lie?  Have you encountered this paradigm in your own personal experience?  ALL of it?  SOME of it? 

Reaction:  response to stimulus or influence.  If you HAVE encountered this paradigm in your own experience, what was the reason given to you?  Did you agree?  If you HAVE NOT encountered this paradigm, do you think you will?  If so (not), why (not)?  

ALTERNATIVE: You MAY write this essay using the "Z&O" Format, discussed in class- with link on Blackboard
